  1. So it can actually act as a portable nuclear reactor that can be carried anywhere? If that's true, then people can have a backup power supply.

  2. very good video..if this true,we can save a lot of space to built the powerpalnt.I hope in the future the price will go down so that we can afford to buy it.

  3. Japan's Toshiba had already built and installed their 100 times smaller micro nuclear reactor, 20 foot long and 6 foot wide, as individual household power reactor in 2008. They already began marketing it in the US and Europe in 2009.
In the namesake of technology revolution, portable nuclear reactor is something reality. If I am not mistaken the portable nuclear reactor shown in the video is built by Hyperion Power Generation, Santa Fe-based company. It's 10-15 feet long by 10 feet wide. Could generates for 20,000 houses for 7-10 years.Reported cost USD 2,500 per home for a community of 10,000 houses. Convert to RM,it is a hefty price to pay. Lets hope the government will come out with a new loan scheme on portable nuclear installing in the future.

  4. well my main concern is the safety issues regarding a portable nuclear device. If every house is equipped with this source of portable energy, in case a failure occurs in one house.. wouldn't it cause a chain reaction which could lead to a catastrohpic disaster????

  5. according to the video also.. the mini reactor would be buried underground, but im sure that alone would not be enough to suppress the energy of a nuclear power incase of an accident

  6. This is such a good idea.
However, it is mentioned that every 5-10 years we have to remove the nuclear waste.
    How they gonna remove it?
Is it safe from any radiation?

What kind of security installation they have to prevent this device from any hijacker?

  7. amazing! this scientist are great, how they come with this brilliant idea to make the nuclear plant be as smallest thing ever. but still in every good and great things, they always have negative side. as michio kaku said, the nuclear waste can be a dirty toy for the terrorist or hijacker. besides that this idea still amazing. how this nuclear plant can be usable and useful to human and in future it was affordable and in small size.

  8. I am totally agree with tevan nair on the safety issues but still i cant be totally negative. There's nothing impossible in the future. I would like to give Singapore country as an example. Even with it's very limited spaces, they have never rule out using nuclear power plant as an alternative. Shockingly, they are now considering on building the nuclear power plant underground.

wow its was amazing..by using dis method we can save a lot of place n can low the manitenance of the plant..its can be d main thing to produce a large amount of energy wif jz a low cost production..im sure wen using dis method we make sure d development of a country more faster..tq..

  10. this mini powerplant according to scinetist michio kaku is not a rocket science, something simple from 5o years back. this will be a big help for the communitites where its tough to wire them, this would be a good power source. a main concern here would be that this can be misused by a certain group of people if not given due security in operation

  11. The idea was great but still we got the national safety issues . Nuclear power plant can be controlled and monitored by the government, but how about the portable one? Is that mean everyone have the opportunity to create nuclear weapon?

  13. i think, this mini nuclear power plant is competitive to be implemented in an average size community that have a small land or maybe secluded area where the power line can't reach it, because its small size, for a nuclear power plant, the safety feature and the fact that it doesn't need any operator....... my only concern is the cost and the process to remove the "glowing in the dark" high level nuclear waste of the plant.......

  14. hello.

the mini nuclear power plant is very2 caught my interest. we can save a lot of space to build this power plant. yeah it is true that the cost to built this power plant is very high, but if we think about the long term benefit, the high cost is worth.

    thanks

  15. (impossible is nothing)... i started to feel this sentence now, this portable nuclear reactor is an amazing thing and now we will have a low price production with a large amount of energy. so it is a very good thing. but what I'm afraid of is how they gonna keep it out of the criminals and terrorists hands? and how can they put it under a high security level?

  16. As the Micio said, a single reactor for 20,000 house and it is not very suitable for a big city but more suitable for desserted or a remote places like alaska, dessert, and many more. But it seem there is a problem in removing the waste which is like a small ball. the waste can be a bomb if it fell to a wrong person. Then how are you going to explain the risk that we will take. But then if we can manage the system perfectly and carefully. we can do nuclear.(MD NAZRIN BIN MD NAZIR,nazrinnazir.90@gmail.com)
