MIDF positive on Malaysia power sector
MIDF Research has maintained its 'positive' stance on the power sector on the launch of the projects under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) for the power sector. In its research note, MIDF said under the ETP, the government has outlined three major areas -- deployment of nuclear energy, solar capacity build-up and the development of hydropower.
It said Tenaga Nasional Bhd would become the major beneficiary.
"It will remain the dominant force in the development of renewable energy, and this will bring more positives than negatives to the company.
MIDF said overall, the ETP would have a neutral impact on the sector, given the fact that the gestation period for the benefits of renewable energy to be reaped was rather long. - Bernama
p/s: nuclear will be our source of energy to generate electricity in the future =)

This is a good step for Malaysia. If we were to continue producing electricity the same way we are now, prices of electricity would rise too high.

Generating electricity via the Nuclear energy will put Malaysia on the map, this will be a vital step for greater opprtunities that will befall Malaysia. And also it will help Tenaga to have better harvests despite the negatives.

WOW..awesome news..hope the government spend wisely on this ETP without exploiting the cost on building, besides what does it means from Tenaga nasional would become the major beneficiary??? As it is now..Tenaga is buying the electricity from few power plant which is totally conducted by different cronies and are subjected by terms from the government on selling it back to the people...which WE as MALAYSIAN buy electricity from a third party... are you sure Tenaga would have the beneficiary from this OOMING PROJECT..unless there are a major political shift in Malaysia...

YO!
ReplyDeletedon't you think that Malaysia had a lot of spaces and experts on this field? what will we lost if we try to build one reactor? if it goes well, the government will be the one who got the benefits. and the nuclear energy is not as dangerous as you heard. if it get well maintained there should be no harm to us.

Going Nuclear is a good move in Malaysia's part. It could potentially replace all the other polluting power plants at one go. I will give my support on the nuclear project in Malaysia IF there are no other setbacks.

I disagree with the option of resorting to nuclear generation as a main source of power. Reason because, the production of nuclear power plant will obviously will blow a big hole in Malaysian economic infrastructure during this recession period because of materials needed in the construction of nuclear power plant and the resources needed in the field of nuclear development in Malaysia is still in a primary stage.
